About Me
From an early age, I struggled significantly with my mental health. My loving parents paid top dollar to seek out the most esteemed professionals in New York City to try to help me. Eventually I lost hope of ever feeling lasting peace and joy. This led me to seek out ways to numb and escape my struggles instead.
When I was 19, I met Regalena Melrose and decided to try her method, primarily because of an offer of free rent. What I didn’t anticipate was that her Self Regulation Training would completely change my life.
After a few sessions, with minimal conversation, I began to notice a significant improvement in my symptoms. I felt lighter, happier, and more liberated. Suddenly, I went from merely wanting to survive to truly wanting to live!
Everything changed for me when I realized that life could indeed get better.
I began addressing the stress and trauma stored in my body, and there was a lot to work through. Trust me! It wasn’t an easy fix or a magic pill; it required real effort. I needed to DO THE WORK! I had to feel, give space, release, and build new neural pathways. While it wasn’t easy, having the right tools and a guide who approached everything with such love made the process manageable—and incredibly rewarding.
As I continued working with her over the years, exploring the wisdom held in every part of my body, the results were truly life-changing. I recall the moment I thought, “Wow, there is a way out after all! This isn’t a life sentence!”
That realization sparked a deep desire in me to learn how to guide others through their own struggles. I knew there were many out there who felt just as trapped and needed to see that there is, indeed, a path to freedom.
My entire relationship with life transformed profoundly. I began to experience a deep change in how I related to my body, food, fears, peers, and, most importantly, myself. After dedicating years to this inner work, I reached a state where I felt truly light, joyful, at peace, and, above all, free.
This newfound freedom and relief were so exhilarating that I felt compelled to share them with others who might be struggling. I decided to immerse myself in learning everything I could to guide others on their own journeys toward a more fulfilling life—one marked by freedom, healthy boundaries, and intuitive living.
Shortly after, I had the immense pleasure of learning from Dr. Regalena Melrose, or “my soul sister Reggie” as I affectionately call her today. She imparted more than just knowledge; she taught us to engage our hearts, minds, and souls. The lessons I learned from her are truly indescribable, and I will forever be grateful for her impact on my life.
After graduating from the Melrose Method in 2019, I returned to Brooklyn and launched my private practice, focusing on somatic work and addressing the effects of stress and trauma in the body. Since then, my journey has taken me around the world, allowing me to embrace various holistic practices.
As Reggie likes to say, we still live on “planet trauma,” so I make sure to get my tune-ups a few times a year, clearing out anything that gets stored or stuck along the way. I hope to continue this practice for the rest of my life and remain ever grateful for the benefits it brings.
During a transformative stay in India in 2021, I had the privilege of learning ancient healing techniques, including acupressure, and sound and vibrational healing, from the graceful Nada Shakti. I cherish these ancient remedies for the way they infuse greater bliss to everyday life.
India also introduced me to meditation in its purest form. It was there, at an Ashram under Swamiji’s guidance, that I first managed my insomnia and delved into the depths of my mind, discovering profound insights into the nature of consciousness.
On a subsequent trip, I stumbled upon my first Vipassana experience—an unexpectedly life-altering journey that imparted wisdom far beyond any academic learning.
During my 10 days of silence, an experience I have since repeated multiple times, I deepened my understanding of addictions and cravings and their manifestations in the body. I also gained insight into how the mind can be both our greatest ally and our worst adversary. The practice taught me to connect with a true sense of self and awareness, allowing me to choose when to engage constructively with my mind and when to step back. The wisdom gained through silence and observation is immense and can only be fully grasped through practice. I hope to continue attending practices like those taught by S. N. Goenka at least once a year.
In 2022, I had the privilege of studying under some of the most esteemed teachers at The Embody Lab, where I earned my Integrative Trauma Therapy Certification. The work being done at The Embody Lab, led by the profoundly embodied Dr. Scott Lyons, is truly remarkable and has restored my faith in humanity. They have revolutionized the academic system with a strong emphasis on inclusivity, holistic approaches, and humaneness.
Currently, in 2024, I am deepening my knowledge by studying Integrative Somatic Parts Work (IFS) with the inspiring Fran D. Booth. I feel both privileged and excited to integrate these new tools into my current private practice in Stoney Point, NY.
